ABOUT TANGO
Tango was born in Buenos Aires. It is a popular dance that has conquered the world. In essence, Tango is an artistic expression. It is a dance which is constructed over three basic components: the embrace, a slow walking style and improvisation. Above all tangi it is an intense body language that transmits hundreds of emotions. The so called “milongas” are places to dance tango. Many of them host dance classes before the main dance, with specialized teachers. After about four to five classes, the eight basic movements can be learnt.
Every August, Buenos Aires hosts the World Tango Festival, attracting thousands of fans from different latitudes. It entails concerts, new productions, open interviews, guided tours, dance classes, milongas, tributes, traditional and vanguard orchestras, exhibitions and interdisciplinary proposals featuring the very best of tango.
